North Tolsta, Isle of Lewis

On the east side of the Isle of Lewis, North Tolsta is the last village on the route of Lord Leverhulme’s failed attempt to build a road from Tolsta to Ness. This road finishes just outside North Tolsta at the “Bridge To Nowhere”.

North Tolsta has many beaches but the finest is Traigh Mhòr (“Big Beach”) where this is taken. There are 5 caves only reachable during low tide, these are locally known as "The Caves of Life."
