Arrow Valley, Worcestershire

Flowing from the Lickey Hills two small watercourses carry nearly all of the local rainfall south to the mighty River Severn. Every few miles these streams merge with numerous other ditches and brooks until they gain river status. The Arrow is one of these rivers, forming a major tributary of the Avon, which then joins the Severn at Tewkesbury.

Here the River Arrow, just a few miles south east of the Lickey Hills, is lying under a blanket of low November cloud.
